Gram Seed is a former football hooligan who spent years in prison and at his worst could drink 28 pints of cider a day. He was given his first sentence at the age of 16 and by the time he was 26 he had served another four jail terms, after becoming a member of the Front Line, a notorious gang of hooligans who followed Middlesbrough Football Club. At the age of 32, his body shut down and he spent six days in a coma suffering from blood poisoning, hypothermia, liver damage and kidney failure. Gram, who is now married, and has two young sons, said: “While I was in a coma I had a vision. I saw myself cleansed and healed from my past and I really believed it was from God.” Gram launched a charity, Growing Seeds Ministries, and makes weekly visits to prisons to show inmates that the wrong choices can have near-fatal consequences.
